ABOUT

How it all started

2024 marked the first year that Steve Dubé, of Dubé Realtors, brought back the Easter Hunt, which was moved out of Welland; unfortunately, the original location was no longer available. Last year’s event was coordinated with Merrittville Speedway at their location. “It brought on a much bigger crowd than we ever expected.” says Steve Dubé.

Merrittville Speedway & Dubé Realtors have partnered up again to bring back this Easter Egg Hunt with a new twist, happening Friday April 18th 12-5pm. This year we will mark the 2nd Merrittville Speedway Easter Egg Hunt. “More planning and consideration to improve safety and crowd control, more signage, barricades and a directional flow of activities that will keep the crowds moving through both sides of the race track this year, instead of one” says Don Spiece Owner of Merrittville Speedway.

Good Friday is the date for the Hunt this year! An afternoon event and it is FREE ADMISSION for families and kids. The main attractions will be the Easter Egg hunt with 4 different time slots. We have removed the individual age group hunts, with a hunt starting at 1pm then 2pm, 3pm, and the last one at 4pm. Using golf balls, only one ball will be enough to hand in to get a candy bag. Children of all ages accompanied by their parent/guardian will be able to enjoy the hunt together. Adding an accessibility area, including babies in strollers, is a safe way to participate. There will be candy prizes for every child 13 and under, ONLY, who participate in the hunt. Justin Dubé of Dubé Realtors will be back on stage with trivia and prizes to give away, as the tradition continues. Dubé’s one-of-a-kind hand-built carnival games will be out for all ages to enjoy and the famous prize table for rewards. More fun activities for the entire family, racing cars, fire trucks, inflatables, police cruisers for kids to sit in, a coloring contest, and so much more.

Hosts Don and Lorraine Spiece, Merrittville Speedway owners, have a history of giving back to the community through various events and giving thousands of Christmas gifts to children over the years. “We see this as another opportunity to celebrate family fun and give back to the Niagara Region Community, by providing this Easter event with many free activities to enjoy,” said Lorraine Spiece. There will be plenty of Easter Egg Hunts around the Niagara Region, but this inaugural annual event promises to be fun entertainment for all ages. Hop on down to Merrittville Speedway on April 18.
